On 25 May 2010, the ASEAN Foundation Board of Trustees held its 24th Meeting at the ASEAN Foundation office in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Meeting, presided over by H.E. Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN and Chairman of the ASEAN Foundation Board of Trustees, discussed, among others, the draft Protocol Amending the Revised Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of the ASEAN Foundation, the progress of the implementation of various projects supported by the ASEAN Foundation, the development of partnerships and mobilization of financial resources in line with its mandate to promote ASEAN awareness and identity, enhance interaction among ASEAN stakeholders, and develop human resources. The meeting also noted of the progress in key programs including the establishment of the ASEAN Network for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR ASEAN), joint scholarships with the private sector, partnership with Inter-American Development Bank, Microsoft Asia-Pacific and Hewlett-Packard.
The ASEAN Foundation Board of the Trustees meets twice a year. It is composed of representatives appointed by ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN Foundation. The current members include the Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, namely, H.E. Pengiran Hajjah Basmillah Pengiran Haji Abbas of Brunei Darussalam, H.E. Mr. Kan Pharidh of Cambodia, H.E. Mr. I Gede Ngurah Swajaya of Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Prasith Sayasith of Laos, H.E. Dato’ Hsu King Bee of Malaysia, H.E. U Nyan Lynn of Myanmar, H.E. Dr. Orlando S. Mercado of the Philippines, H.E. Mr. Lim Thuan Kuan of Singapore, H.E. Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Vu Dang Dzung of Viet Nam, and ex-officio members, H.E. Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, Secretary-General of ASEAN, and Dr. Filemon A. Uriarte, Jr. Executive Director of the ASEAN Foundation.
