ASEAN Foundation Empowers Young Entrepreneurs in using ICT Applications to improve their Business
On 25-27 January 2012, the ASEAN Foundation conducted ICT training for Young Entrepreneurs. The training was participated by 19 persons from various line of business and they are members of Koperasi Karya Insa (Karya Insa Co-op). The 3-day training aims to provide the participants with basic knowledge of e-commerce and e-business tools and covered modules on various marketing-related IT applications.
The training is one of the 22 ICT training programs for SMEs in Indonesia in 2011 that the ASEAN Foundation is implementing under the grant from Microsoft. The trainings intend to promote information and communication technologies among small and medium enterprises. The trainings will target around 400 local implementers of SMEs, youth and women in Indonesia. The trainings will be conducted in North Sumatera, West Sumatera, Riau Island, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sulawesi, and West Nusa Tenggara. The ASEAN Foundation was established by the ASEAN Leaders in December 1997 during ASEAN’s 30th Anniversary Commemorative Summit to help bring about shared prosperity and a sustainable future to all 10 ASEAN Member Countries, namely, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.
