1) Human Resource Development for the Coordination in the Field of Natural Disasters
  Project No. 041
  Implementing Agency: Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADRC)
  Asia is a country most prone to all kinds of natural disasters. Natural disasters occurred during 1995-2000 claimed more than 313,000 lives and affected close to one billion people. The economic loss was estimated at 142 billion dollars. The statistics tells natural disasters is one of the major factors that impoverished million of people each year and hold the ASEAN countries back from its socio-economic development. A growing attention and importance have been attached to development of comprehensive approaches to disaster management cycle in Asia
