About the Programme:

AI TEACH for ASEAN is a joint initiative between the ASEAN Foundation and Microsoft aimed at enhancing the region's proficiency in AI. The Teaching the Teachers programme, conducted in collaboration with Yayasan Plan International Indonesia and Biji-Biji Initiative, aims to equip Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) lecturers, teachers, instructors, and educators across ASEAN countries with practical AI skills, enhancing their teaching capabilities.

Objectives:

  • Familiarise TVET educators with the basics of AI and its applications in education.
  • Offer interactive activities and resources aimed at incorporating AI productivity tools into daily educational practices.
  • Equip TVET educators with essential AI skills to enrich the learning experience and prepare students for future workforce demands.

Who Can Join this Programme:

  • TVET lecturers, teachers, educators, and instructors from ASEAN Member States with a demonstrated interest in enhancing their teaching practices through AI integration.

Timeline:

Lecturers, teachers, educators and instructors who are interested may choose one of the following dates:

  • 1st session: 27-28 March 2024
  • 2nd session 4-5 April 2024 (TBC)
  • 3rd session: 25-26 April 2024 (TBC)

For the dates in April, which are yet to be confirmed, we will notify individuals who submit nominations or applications through the link below once the dates are finalised.

Agenda & Learning Modules:

The training programme will feature the Microsoft AI Trainer Toolkit and will be conducted virtually by AI experts and experienced educators, following the tentative agenda detailed below. Attendance and active participation in the full two-day virtual session, from 8 AM to 5 PM, are mandatory.

Nomination & Application Process:

We seek the support from educational institutions, government agencies, professional associations, and other relevant organisations to nominate qualified TVET educators from 10 ASEAN Member States through the submission form below.

Additionally, lecturers, teachers, educators, or instructors are also invited to submit their applications through the same link below.

Criteria of Selection:

  • Relevant Experience: Preference may be given to educators with experience in teaching TVET subjects or related fields and those who have demonstrated a commitment to professional development.
  • Interest and Motivation: Applicants who can articulate a strong interest in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into their teaching practices and a motivation to explore new technologies and methodologies in education.
  • Potential for Impact: Consideration may be given to educators who can significantly impact TVET education in their respective institutions or communities by implementing AI technologies.
  • Availability and Commitment: Applicants who can demonstrate their availability to fully participate in the programme sessions and engage actively in the learning activities may be given consideration.
