Announcing Dr. Yang Mee Eng as the New Executive Director of ASEAN Foundation

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Yang Mee Eng as the new Executive Director of ASEAN Foundation for the 2020-2023 term. She will officially start her work at the Foundation on Friday, 17 January 2020.

Dr. Yang has more than 26 years of working experience in private and government sectors. She was most recently the Senior Vice President at Alphacap, tasked with assisting SMEs companies and leading the development and execution of Bloconomic Expo 2019, a platform aimed at creating a vast network of Blockchain entrepreneurs and developers in the fast-evolving Blockchain companies. Prior to that, she assumed the position of CEO at Gameview, the largest mobile game publisher in Malaysia. There she oversaw over 50 staffs in 3 offices in Malaysia, China and Thailand.

Before moving to the private sector, Dr. Yang spent 19 years working as Business Development Manager at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), building Malaysia as digital media hub and leading the implementation of One Source Multi Usage for cross-platform business models to fully tap into the potential of the locally produced content.

Apart from professional work, Dr. Yang is the Co-Founder and President of the Spina Association of Malaysia and President of World Game Blockchain Association. She is also part of the international advisory panel for Malaysia Communication & Multimedia Commission, University Tenaga National and Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur.

We are thrilled that someone with such a depth of experience in social entrepreneurship and business development as well as extensive communication background, will lead the ASEAN Foundation into the next chapter.
