Mahmudi Yusbi

Head of Programme


As Head of Programme, Mahmudi supports the Executive Director in designing, managing and implementing the Foundation's initiatives.

Prior to working at the ASEAN Foundation, he served as a Project Officer and Technical Specialist for the United Nations Development Programme Indonesia, managing the South-South and Triangular Cooperation, Access to Justice, Democracy, and Sustainable Development Goals programmes accross Indonesia.

Also, he spent seven years working as programme staff at Leonard Cheshire Disability in its national office in Indonesia and its regional office in Bangkok. There he was tasked with managing and implementing disability and development programme in Indonesia and other Southeast Asia countries, such as Malaysia and the Philippines.

Mahmudi comes from Aceh, Indonesia, which is a place that was severely affected by the tsunami in 2004. He holds a Bachelor degree in Education from the Islamic University of Indonesia in Banda Aceh and a Master's degree in International Development Studies from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, and he studied ASEAN Public Sector Leadership at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, in 2018
