Three decades after ASEAN was established, ASEAN Leaders recognised that: there remained inadequate shared prosperity, ASEAN awareness and contact among people of ASEAN. It was of this concern that ASEAN Leaders established the ASEAN Foundation during ASEAN’s 30th Anniversary Commemorative Summit in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia on 15 December 1997.

The ASEAN Foundation is a strategic ASEAN body since 1997. It is an organisation from and for the people of ASEAN.  We exist because of one vision: to build a cohesive and prosperous ASEAN Community.

As one of ASEAN’s bodies, we are tasked to support ASEAN mainly in promoting awareness, identity, interaction and development of the people of ASEAN. We support close collaboration among the business sector, civil society, academia and other stakeholders in ASEAN

We continue to complement ASEAN priorities. To date, we work to strengthen the ASEAN Community.

The ASEAN Foundation seeks an intern to support the programme management function of the organisation, led by the Programme Manager in coordination with the programme staff.

The Programme Management Intern provides substantive, organizational and logistical assistance to the programme staff of the ASEAN Foundation. In this process, the intern will gain knowledge of the substantive and operational aspects of the foundation’s programmes.
